Eleanor Noir is a visual artist currently living and working on Kaurna Land/Adelaide. Her work investigates themes of connection with the natural world, interconnectedness, impermanence and the boundaries between being wild and domesticated.
Eleanor received her Bachelor of Visual Arts from Adelaide Central School of Art in 2012. Her work has been exhibited in Australia, Spain and the USA - including at the South Australian Museum (Australia), the European Museum of Modern Art MEAM (Spain), and Sotheby’s New York (USA). Recent solo exhibitions include The Memory of Snow at Wonderground Barossa, Seppeltsfield, Ngadjuri Country (2024); Sublunary at Hahndorf Academy, Hahndorf/Bukatila, Peramangk Country (2023); and her large-scale drawing installation Our Beating Hearts, Their Beating Wings: An Interspecies Murmuration exhibited at Tiwu Kumangka, Kaurna Land/Adelaide for Nature Festival SA (2024) as Artist-in-Residence for Nature Festival and Wittunga Botanic Garden (The Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium of South Australia).
She has been the recipient of the Carbins Trust Prize, Tanza Lorraine Smith Fellowship, Waterway Fellowship, Australia Council Art Start Grant and the Pro Hart Scholarship. Her work has been selected as a finalist for numerous national and international art prizes and awards, including the John Leslie Art Prize, the International FiKVA Award, the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the Calleen Art Award and The Heysen Prize for Landscape. Her paintings have appeared in The Guardian, Art Almanac and The Sydney Morning Herald.
Her work is held in private collections in Australia, Italy and the USA.
